A girl and her handbags

Like many girls, I absolutely love handbags. My taste has certainly gotten pricier over the years and believe it or not, I can pinpoint the exact day when my taste in expensive handbags began…it was my fifth grade graduation and my parents gave me my very first Kate Spade nylon bag…you know, back when Kate Spade bags had those black labels with the white writing. If you grew up in the 90’s you totally know what I’m talking about!

Since then, I’ve had a thing for fancy bags…what can I say?! Some call it an addiction, I call it a love affair. While some may think it’s crazy to drop a lot of money on a handbag, I stand behind it. I still love all of my pricey bags as much as I did the day I bought them and for the most part, they’ve held up really well.

Let’s be real here…I don’t go out every week and buy a new handbag. In fact, I haven’t bought one in years. That goes to show just how good of an investment expensive handbags can be. I’m not suggesting that you go and spend this month’s rent on a fancy bag. But, if you’ve been eyeing that Prada tote or Chanel bag for months now and you have the money, I say go for it! I think we should all do what makes us happy. If you are like me and a new Prada bag will make you smile, then make that purchase 🙂

Below are a few of the bags I’ve been lusting over, along with some more reasonable options. A little side note- I first came across this Nina Ricci bag over the summer when I was at Barney’s with my mom and I’ve been in love with it ever since (hence it’s placement as number one on this list). I think I’m going to take my own advice and purchase it this fall. Maybe a gift to myself for completing my first half marathon? That seems like good motivation for the 13.1 miles…am I right?!
